VBO has opened its first Melbourne showroom, proving the city really is the place to be when it comes to great design. Known as a go-to for industry insiders, VBO’s strong presence as an exclusive stockist of cult Italian brands makes it one of the country’s top destinations for one-off pieces and ultra high-end designer furniture. One such brand is Viabizzuno, an Italian designer lighting brand with some serious clout — and available at the new VBO showroom. Based in Bologna, the brand has created custom installations for fashion labels including Valentino, Chanel and Gucci – as well as a striking piece for the Maxxi Museum in Rome, a building that was designed by the late-great architect Zaha Hadid. As well as bespoke pieces of art, Viabizzuno also produces a collection of off-the-shelf lighting accessories for homes and businesses, all of which are on display at the new VBO showroom in East Melbourne.

Keeping the crème de la crème of lighting company in the new space is a range of Henry Timi furniture, another much-loved Italian designer. Timi is based in Milan and all of his pieces are handmade in Italy from carefully selected natural materials. He’s a minimalist, rejecting excess and keeping the focus on elegant lines and shapes.

VBO is the exclusive distributor of both these brands in Australia and New Zealand, and the Melbourne interior design industry now has easy access to these exquisite Italian lighting and furniture options.

After the success of VBO’s Sydney showroom, which opened last year, owner and director John Bechini said: “I am so delighted with our new space. We wanted to create a dynamic retreat for our clientele – a beautiful canvas from which to showcase our Viabizzuno and Henry Timi collections that also serves as an inspiring meeting point for designers and their clients.” Mission accomplished.
